Welcoming Our Partners from Slovakia to the HDC Family

At HDC San Diego, we believe that player development thrives when fueled by diverse expertise and a global perspective. This past month, we were thrilled to welcome two incredible additions to our team, brought to us by our partner company HDTS in Slovakia. Their arrival marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for our hockey training center and the athletes we serve in San Diego and beyond.

Meet Jozef and Richard: Experts in Player Development

Jozef and Richard come to us with a wealth of experience, having spent years developing and mentoring hockey players at various levels, from amateur to NHL. Their expertise spans advanced skill development, innovative training methodologies, and a deep understanding of the game.

Richard brings over a decade of experience as a fitness coach, specializing in strength and conditioning for elite hockey players. He has been a key figure at HDC Slovakia, helping to develop centers around the world, and working with professional athletes from the Slovak and Czech Extraliga, KHL, and even Slovak NHL players. Over the past 3 years he has worked with youth national teams of Slovakia and later this month he will be coaching the Slovak U20 team at the Junior World Championships in Ottawa, Canada. Richard’s approach to training is rooted in hard work and discipline, and his experience and passion for the sport will undoubtedly inspire our athletes as they work toward their goals.

Jozef (Joe) adds another dynamic layer to our training programs. His professional playing career includes stints in the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL), the United Hockey League (UHL), and the Central Hockey League (CHL) before returning to play pro back in Europe. He also served as a General Manager and Head Coach at various European hockey clubs, and these days Joe is a business development specialist with our partners at HDTS. His extensive knowledge and collaborative spirit will play a critical role in expanding our offerings and helping us to reach and surpass our goal of growing the game in San Diego.

What This Means for Our Athletes
Having Richard and Joe join our team is more than just a partnership—it’s a commitment to elevating our training center to new heights. Over the next several months, they will help us launch new initiatives designed to refine player development, enhance training techniques, and push the boundaries of what’s possible off the ice.

With their guidance, we aim to solidify the HDC brand as a leader in hockey training, not just in San Diego but across North America. Their involvement will provide our athletes with unique access to world-class coaching strategies, allowing them to develop the skills needed to excel at the next level.

Looking Ahead
We’re excited to see how their contributions will shape our programs and inspire our athletes. Stay tuned for updates about their work at our center, upcoming events, and special training opportunities.

On behalf of our entire team, we want to extend a warm welcome to Richard and Joe. We are honored to have you here and look forward to the incredible journey ahead.
